The Australian businesses of SAS and Microsoft have extended the global partnership to launch SAS Cloud on Azure in the region.

Supporting a shared vision to further “democratise AI and analytics“, the partnership provides the 2nd SAS Azure tenant globally to serve the sophisticated needs of customers in Australia and the region.

After the initial launch in the US, Australia is the second Azure region to launch SAS Cloud.

Earlier this year Microsoft and SAS announced a partnership with Azure becoming SAS’s preferred cloud allowing for the integration of the SAS suite of products into the Microsoft ecosystem including Azure, Dynamics 365 and PowerBI. The two companies also agreed on a joint go to market plan with new products and solutions.

Speaking for Microsoft Australia, Rachel Bondi said, “Australian organisations are increasingly aware of the power of data, analytics and AI to support their people, to deliver exceptional customer experiences and to ensure businesses thrive and succeed.

Our partnership with SAS and the establishment of the SAS Cloud on Azure streamlines access to this capability for local organisations and we are delighted to partner on this initiative.”

In a recent report, Gartner forecast the top trends of Data and Analytics. The future of data and analytics is in the cloud, said Gartner. By 2022, public cloud services will be required for 90 per cent of data and analytics innovation.
