Cloudera unveiled new hybrid data capabilities in the Cloudera Data Platform across Australia and New Zealand. According to Cloudera, organisations can now migrate data, metadata, workloads, and apps between clouds and on-premises locations more effectively.

The company’s new secure data replication simplifies and secures the movement of data and metadata, the latest SDX enhancement in Cloudera’s unified data fabric. Additionally, its universal data distribution delivers the first data ingestion solution built for hybrid data.

These new capabilities are key to getting control of hybrid data through a data-first strategy, noted Cloudera.

“Businesses dislike having to choose between cost and performance since the two are so closely tied. Adopting a data-first strategy enables organisations to focus on how to maximise value while minimising costs.”

When companies do right by their data, the entire business can access and analyse it without limitations

Modern data architectures must allow data and workloads to be moved at any time and anyplace if organisations are to adapt to changing business needs.

The latest data management and analytics developments for hybrid data include:

Portable data services:

Without having to spend money on costly redevelopment or rearchitecting the apps, portable data services allow data analytics and the data applications that are built with them to be moved quickly and efficiently between different infrastructures.

Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Machine Learning are all components of CDP Data Services, and all three are developed on a same code base and provide the same capability on AWS, Azure, and on-premise Private Cloud.

Cloudera says this could make it easier for users, admins and developers to turn data into value and insight, while providing users with a consistent data experience, irrespective of where the data is stored or where the data applications run.

Secure Data replication:

Secure Data Replication allows data and metadata to be easily and securely replicated or moved across various Cloudera deployments in data centres and public clouds.

There is no need to reimplement data security and governance regulations

Universal Data Distribution:

Universal Data Distribution enables companies to take control of their data flows, from origination through all points of consumption both on-premises and in the Cloud.

This is enabled by Cloudera DataFlow, the first data ingestion solution built for a hybrid data world – A true hybrid data ingestion solution that addresses the entire diversity of data movement use cases: batch, event-driven, edge, microservices and continuous/streaming.
