India-based IT services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a partnership with AGL to modernise and migrate apps to the Cloud. The transformational program is “aimed at enabling AGL’s growth strategy towards becoming a digital utility of the future”.

The enterprise-wide cloud transformation initiative envisages “modernising the application estate and moving workloads to the cloud, to create a new future-proof digital core that will allow AGL to accelerate its innovation and deliver superior customer experiences,” noted TCS’ media release.

TCS stated it is “leveraging its Cloud Migration Factory using high levels of automation to speed up the migration”, based on an assessment of the degradation path for the legacy app portfolio.

TCS also noted over 50 apps have been optimised and half of the corporate workload has been transitioned to the cloud as per the migration roadmap.

Set to run till the end of 2021, the TCS program is expected to accelerate innovation at AGL. Harnessing the cloud-native capabilities in AI, ML and IoT this could lead to develop new products and enhance the customer experience.
