Leading IT services provider Accenture announced acquisition of Revolutionary Security, an enterprise cybersecurity specialist company headquartered in Philadelphia. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a statement, Accenture revealed Revolutionary Security’s portfolio of cybersecurity services includes assessment and testing, design and build of security programs and functions as well as security operations across its clients’ Information Technology and Operational Technology systems.

Revolutionary Security leverages proprietary technology and methods to help mature the security capabilities of its clients and manage risk. The company’s breach and attack simulation testing service, LiveFire®, utilizes real-world cyber threats to identify gaps in security processes and monitoring, as well as staff operations and technologies.

Kelly Bissell, who leads Accenture Security said: “Revolutionary Security’s service offerings are a perfect complement to Accenture’s portfolio, and the acquisition furthers our mission of helping clients better protect and defend their organizations across their entire ecosystem”.

The Philadelphia based company specializing in enterprise cybersecurity for information technology and operational technology environments employs a team of about 90 highly skilled cybersecurity professionals in the United States. Founded in 2016, the niche player boasts clients in the energy, manufacturing, healthcare, financial services and communications industries.

The acquisition of Revolutionary Security is another demonstration of our continued commitment to invest in areas to keep our clients safe from cyber threats

The acquisition could enhance Accenture’s security services, particularly regarding more complex IT and OT cybersecurity challenges. Given the ever-increasing rates of varied cyberattacks across the world, cybersecurity is not just the IT’s problem anymore. Demanding attention from Boards of Directors and investments accordingly, cybersecurity is undoubtedly a critical focus area for all organisations. Viewed in this context, the deal seems to be yet another strategic investment by Accenture.

Revolutionary Security is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Accenture. In 2019, Accenture said it made 33 acquisitions investing about $1.2 billion. Last week Accenture announced the acquisition of B2B marketing agency Yesler to enhance B2B services.

Accenture Security’s earlier investments include Context Information Security, Symantec’s Cyber Security Services, Deja vu Security, iDefense, Maglan, Redcore, Arismore and FusionX demonstrating the importance given by the world’s leading IT services player to Security services.
